Planning and Gear

I am still in the phase where I am reading as much as I can about what is in store for us. I have read some articles recently that flat our stated we probably wouldn't be able to get around the entire ring road. That is a little disheartening but really either way it will be an amazing trip. That's what I have to remember. I also threw out to Nick, next time we should go to iceland on his way home from New Zealand. That would put us there in March, the weather is more reliable. But that's for the next trip! Gear: Currently I have a Big Agnes Roxy Ann 15 degree bag. My best bet to add additional warmth will be a liner. Still deciding if I should just make a liner with my mom or purchase one. It seems like the liners that I have seen are jersey and fleece. I am pretty sure that mom and I can make that happen. Sleeping pad: Big Agnes as well the Insulated Air Core Ultra. Those two pieces fit together to keep you on top of your sleeping pad and comfortable. I have a tenancy

One way ticket to Iceland...

Just kidding, I got a return flight too. Nick is headed to New Zealand for the winter as he has been doing for the past few years. This year he decided to take the long way around the globe, flights were about the same with WOW Air's super cheap flights. I decided that a trip to was something I wanted to do. So I planned to go with! The cheapest round trip flight that I could find would make our Iceland trip around 15 days.... so I did it. Our plan on this trip is to do it as inexpensive as we can. Iceland Can be very expensive, so a good amount of planning will go a long way. Ideally we will have a couple other people on this trip with us. The key is finding people who are okay traveling the way we are planning on doing it. We will camp as much as we can, use a camp stove and cook most of our meals. It will be winter so I am mostly worried about being cold and having our tent blow right over in the wind. Update: We have a third person. Steveo will be joining us on this trip!

To the Land of Fire and Ice

Lucky us! my good friend Nick and I bought our tickets to Iceland. Hoping to find a couple more people to go with us on this epic adventure. We will be there November 13 through the 28th. Feel free to follow along with planning and the trip itself on this blog. Or, just see what we are up to on our social media pages. Let the research begin! I am excited to see Puffins, the Northern Lights, and maybe get caught in a snow storm or two! #adventure #Iceland #LandofFireandIce #Travel #HopeSister _______________________________________________________________________________ If you or your company are interested in supporting our endeavors, please reach out!
